Wayne County Student Takes 1st Place in Regional Diving Championship

Goldsboro’s Devin Hall captured his 3rd straight Eastern North Carolina Regional Diving Championship on Friday February 1st at Pullen Aquatic Center in Raleigh. Hall, a 16 year old Junior at Charles B. Aycock High School, will compete next week at the State High School Meet where he is the reigning Champion for 3A High School competition.

Devin Hall took 1st place in regionals with a score of 334, 81 points ahead of his closest competitor, claiming the top spot out of a field of seven.

During a recent interview on WGBR NewsTalk 1150, Hall was asked how long he had been diving. Hall says its been a short stint only starting just 2 ½ months prior to capturing his first State title as a freshman. Hall credits his “acrobatic ability”  as a natural fit in diving and says he chose the sport because it was fun.
