Goldsboro Rescue and EMS to Celebrate 60th

On Saturday night, the Goldsboro Rescue and EMS will celebrate their 60th Anniversary at the Wayne Shrine Club in Dudley.  75 members past and present are expected to attend.

The 60th Anniversary will feature special recognition of individuals present and a memorial service will honor those who have passed away.

The Goldsboro Rescue Squad began in October 1952 and was stationed at the Goldsboro Fire Dept on Ash Street. The Squad operated until February 1953  when it became a seperate Volunteer Squad.  Goldsboro Rescue Squad ran their first official call on March 21, 1953 which by some accounts is said to be the 2nd oldest voluteer rescue squad in the state.
