Man Shot in Domestic Dispute

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was notified by Emergency Room personnel at Wayne Memorial Hospital that they were treating someone for a gunshot wound.

The shooting victim, Thomas Jefferson Dawson of Saulsberry Drive, Goldsboro had a gunshot wound to his left hip area. According to Mr. Dawson, he and his wife, Classie Best Dawson of Sawood Place, Goldsboro were having a conversation at his residence when she said she was going to kill herself.  Ms. Dawson then pulled a revolver from her handbag and shot Mr. Dawson.  Ms. Dawson left and Mr. Dawson drove himself to Wayne Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.
