worldPERTH, Australia (AP) — The first planes for Monday’s hunt for a missing Malaysian jetliner are now over the search area about 1,150 miles west of Australia. The Australian Maritime Safety Authority says 10 planes and 10 ships — with more than 100 personnel in the air and 1,000 sailors at sea — will take part, with some sections of the zone expected to experience low clouds and rain.

DARRINGTON, Wash. (AP) — The number of people who have been confirmed dead from the mudslide in Washington state now stands at 21. A Snohomish County official says 15 victims have been identified by the medical examiner. Six have yet to be identified. The official says another four bodies were found in the debris field in Oso on Sunday. About 30 people remain missing.
