Pickle Drops Into 2017 (PHOTO GALLERY)

A slight chance of rain didn’t stop about 3,000 people from showing up to watch the Annual Pickle Drop held at the Mount Olive Pickle Plant at the corner of Cucumber and Vine Street. Children and adults were enjoying the hot chocolate, cookies, party hats, and horns while waiting to watch a four foot lit pickle descend into an old wooden pickle vat.

Canned food was collected for the Food Bank and line dancing was preformed in front of the stage. Ollie the pickle mascot was on hand to have his picture made with the children and adults while waiting to see the pickle drop at the stroke of 7 p.m. Door prizes were awarded along with a four foot plastic pickle like the one that was used to ring in the New Year.
