Benjamin Ray Pitt

January 9, 69, Pikeville

Benjamin Ray Pitt, 69, went to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, January 09, 2017 at his home.


Mr. Pitt was born in Wayne County on September 04, 1947 to the late Benjamin and Marie Armwood Pitt.  He was a member of Elm Grove church in Pikeville.  Mr. Pitt was also a member of Big James Barrett and the Golden Jubilees.


He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Priscilla Pitt; one son, Ray Pitt of Raleigh; one step-son, Chesley James of Fayetteville; one step-daughter, Geneva James of Greenville; one brother, Nevaro Pitt and wife, Tory of Boston; three sisters, Linda Reid of Pikeville, Tonya Forte’ and husband, John of Kentucky and Tammy Croom of Pikeville; a sister-in-law, Paula Spann and two brothers-in-law, Donald Stallings and Jimmy Parks.


In addition to his parents, Mr. Pitt is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Lewis Pitt; one brother, Jerry Pitt; two sisters, Sharon Diane Stallings and Norma Lois Parks and a brother-in-law, Jack Reid.


Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
