Matthew Recovery Committee Invites Organizations To Join

The coalition that will be working to assist Hurricane Matthew survivors with unmet needs invites community organizations to a meeting Tuesday morning.

The Long Term Disaster Recovery–Wayne County (LTDR-WC) organizing committee will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, in Weil Auditorium at the Wayne County Public Library at 1001 E. Ash St., Goldsboro. Any civic, nonprofit, or faith-based organization or agency that is interested in contributing to the effort is encouraged to attend the meeting.

The purpose of the LTDR-WC is to connect resource providers and disaster survivors who have unmet needs after other options have been exhausted. The member organizations collaborate with Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster and other groups to provide what is needed, whether it is financial support, volunteer labor, or donated materials.

For more information about this meeting or the LTDR-WC, e-mail [email protected] or call (919) 739-7002.
