Former SJAFB Commander Gets A Promotion

Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein announced the assignment of Brig. Gen. Patrick Doherty as commander of 19th Air Force at JBSA-Randolph, Texas. Doherty currently serves as commander of the 82nd Training Wing at Sheppard AFB, Texas. In his new role, he will be responsible for the training of more than 30,000 U.S. and allied students annually in specialties ranging from aircrews, remotely piloted aircraft crews, air battle managers, weapons directors, Air Force Academy Airmanship programs, and survival escape resistance and evasion Specialists.

General Doherty entered the Air Force in 1987 and served as the vice commander of the 4th Fighter Wing at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base from 2009-2010 and then commander of the wing from 2010-2012.
