Mount Olive Baseball Sweeps North Greenville In Series Doubleheader Finale

The 3rd-ranked University of Mount Olive swept the final two game of the series 1-0, 7-3 against North Greenville University in Conference Carolinas baseball on Saturday afternoon in Mount Olive, N.C.

In game one Austin Hutchison (8-0) took the win on the mound as he went the distance holding North Greenville to just five hits while striking out seven Crusaders. Ellis led the team with a 2-for-2 outing at the plate with the key walk-off RBI base hit.

Game two highlights include Brighton Hudson (5-0) picking up the win on the mound for the Trojans as he went seven and two-thirds, allowing three runs, off five hits, striking out four, and allowing one free pass. Zach Mozingo (S8) picked up the save as he pitched the final inning and a third giving up two hits and struck out three. Jose Lopez led the Trojans with two RBI.

Mount Olive will remain at Scarborough Field a single non-conference match-up with Francis Marion Tuesday, March 28. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
