Drive-By Murder Suspect Convicted

A jury convicts a man charged in a fatal Goldsboro drive-by shooting.

The courtroom trial for 26-year old Alquan D. Hill of Grifton took nearly two weeks, and it ended in guilty verdicts Friday.  Hill was found guilty on three charges including a count of first degree murder.  For that murder charge, he was sentenced to serve life in prison without the possibility of parole.  He was also ordered to serve an additional 92-123 months in prison for the two other charges.  Hill was allegedly part of the “Kinston Six, ” a group implicated in a deadly Goldsboro drive-by shooting in October of 2014.  One woman, 21-year old Shanekqua Thompson of Goldsboro, was killed in the shooting, and one other person was also injured.

I agree it is a burden on us as tax payers but I have come to realize that life w/out the possibility of parole is less expensive than the death penalty and all the appeals that are provided for death row inmates. I for one do no mind my tax dollars being spent to house a cold blooded killer. Better that than have him roaming the streets uncaught. One down and 5 more to go.

i see so many young kids rack up felony’s between 16 thru 25 all they talk about is their not going to work for 8 to 10 dollars an hour , but when they get older 30 to 40 and someone comes along and offers them better wages say 15 to 20 dollars or more an hour that’s when it hits them those felony’s come back to haunt them and most aren’t even friends with the one’s they hung around with back then wake up kid’s think about your life

So now the taxpayers will be footing the bill to give this X roosting chicken a coop to strut around in for the rest of his long life..It will eat better, have better medical/dental and education opportunities than many hard working law abiding individuals in this country..Bring back the chain gangs and death penalty..with only 2 appeals before being sent on your way for the long nap..

They should be sent to Guantanimo bay and have their damn air cond. turned off. We could fill up that place in a heartbeat. Sad to say we have too much freedom and these punks take advantage of that. If they want to shot guns, then draft them in the army and sent them to N. Korea, lol

I like the idea of a “Devils Island” prison. Especially if the inmates have to maintain the facility, make repairs, and cook the meals. But don’t foist these punks on the Army or Marines. They have neither the smarts or discipline to be good infantrymen. Who wants to serve next a convicted killer?

Agree. Maybe public executions could deter some punks from a criminal career. They should do hard labor while in prison, don’t work, don’t eat, + only educational or religious TV. No sports or regular TV.
