Gov. Cooper Proclaims Youth Make A Difference Day

Next week is Volunteer Week in North Carolina.

During his stop in Goldsboro Thursday, Governor Roy Cooper acknowledged the difference young people can make in their community.  Cooper specifically noted the work of 12-year old Mackenzie Hinson, who runs the Make a Difference Food Pantry in Grantham that assisted during the recovery after Hurricane Matthew.  While in Goldsboro Thursday, Governor Cooper also signed a proclamation declaring April 21st through the 23rd as Youth Make a Difference Days in the state.  Governor Cooper also asked Mackenzie Hinson to serve as the spokesperson for North Carolina’s first Youth Make a Difference Day, and she agreed.
