Heat Advisory Issued Again

For the third day in a row, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Eastern Carolina until 6 PM Friday.  Areas including Goldsboro and Kinston may see heat indices reaching into the 100’s this afternoon due to the combination of scorching temperatures and high humidity.  It’s recommended everyone:

-drink plenty of fluids

-stay inside air conditioned areas if possible

-know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke if working outside

-reschedule strenuous outdoor activities for earlier and later in the day

-keep pets inside

-do not leave children and pets unattended in vehicles

-check up on the elderly and neighbors
