Mosquito Season Brings Health Concerns

(North Carolina News Network)–It’s prime time for mosquitoes and health officials are advising some simple steps to reduce the risk. Chris Salter, the environmental health director for Durham County says one type of the insect is on particular concern. He says the Asian tiger mosquito was one of the insects capable of carrying the Zika virus.  Salter says you should make sure you don’t have areas of standing water that could provide a rich environment for mosquito breeding.
