Possibility For Wind & Isolated Tornado From Hurricane Irma

While the local area has managed to avoid a direct hit from Hurricane Irma, the storm may still bring some intense weather to Wayne County over the next day or so. The National Weather Service in Raleigh says Wayne County may experience winds from 20-25 miles per hour through Monday evening.  Showers are possible through Tuesday, and there’s also a slight chance for an isolated tornado associated with the storm system through Tuesday.
