Remembering and honoring those who lost their lives in the effort to save others on September 11, 2001.

Wayne Community College held its 9/11 Tribute Stair Climb Monday in honor of the 16th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania.

Captain Chad Cobb with the Goldsboro Fire Department has participated in the stair climb in previous years, and he was on hand to motivate students during Monday’s event.  Cobb says staff was on standby watching out for the safety of those taking part in the stair climb.

Law enforcement and paramedic students geared up and climbed 78 flights worth of stairs at the Magnolia Building on the Goldsboro WCC campus Monday morning.
