WCPS Announces Latest Enrollment Figures

Well over 18,000 students are enrolled in classes throughout Wayne County Public Schools this year.  According to the latest headcount, 18,572 students were enrolled in the 32 district schools as of the ten day headcount on September 11th.   The number has risen steadily since the first day of the 2017-2018 school year for most Wayne County Public Schools on August 28th, when 17,648 students were recorded.  The latest number is also up 25 students from last year’s headcount at this time.  WCPS Superintendent Michael Dunsmore says the ten day headcount will allow the district to assess any teacher allotments to determine if any adjustments need to be made.
