Charles Franklin Kirk Jr

Charles Franklin Kirk Jr., born September 21, 1929 and married September 21, 1949, passed away at home surrounded by his family on September 16, 2017.

 

He was a native of Salisbury, North Carolina and son of Charles Franklin Kirk Sr. and Beatrice Goggin Kirk.  He retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company, after 36 years of service, and the remainder of his life was dedicated to helping others in need. He loved his Goldsboro Seventh-Day Adventist Church and was an active member, filling many roles.

 

Left to cherish his memory are: his wife of nearly 68 years, Sarah Elaine Gillis Kirk; three sons, Kenny, Tommy and Martin Kirk; one daughter-in-law, Ginger Kirk; three grandchildren, Jason Kirk, Emily Kirk and Caitlyn Kirk; three step-grandchildren, David Pendleton, Becky Doudiken and Danny Pendleton; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, September 21 at 11 a.m. at the Goldsboro Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1000 E. Mulberry Street in Goldsboro.  There will be no graveside service.

 

Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to the Goldsboro Seventh-day Adventist Church, c/o Anita Wilson, 1000 E. Mulberry Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

 

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
