Local Public Hearing On Duke Energy Rate Request

Duke Energy Progress customers can weigh in on the utility’s proposed rate hikes tonight (Wednesday). The North Carolina Utilities Commission public hearing will cover the proposed electric rate increase for Duke Energy Progress.  Duke Energy Progress wants to raise electric rates an average of 15% to cover system upgrades, conversion to more natural gas, and cleaning up coal ash pits.  Tonight’s local public hearing on the Duke Energy Progress electric rate request is being held at the Greene County Courthouse in Snow Hill at 7 PM.
