Hearing Set On Fire Service District Merger

Two Wayne County fire districts may join forces. The Wayne County Board of Commissioners is considering consolidating the Patetown and Antioch Fire Service Districts.  County Manager George Wood explained to the Wayne County Board this week the two communities had been considering this for some time.  The Antioch and Patetown boards have already approved the proposed merger.  For the next step, the Wayne County Board of Commissioners has scheduled a public hearing on the proposed consolidation of the Patetown and Antioch Fire Service Districts for December 5th at 9:15 AM.
