Halloween Booze It & Lose It Campaign

(NORTH CAROLINA NEWS NETWORK) — The N.C. Governor’s Highway Safety Program and state and local law enforcement kicked off the annual Halloween Booze It & Lose It enforcement campaign over the weekend.

Officer Megan Johnson of the ECU Police Department shared her personal loss of a family member who was killed in a DWI crash. She says the reconstruction of the wreck found the impaired driver was travelling at over 90 miles per hour.

Last year, officers issued more thousands of traffic and criminal citations during the campaign, including hundreds of DWI arrests across the state.
