Kinston Murder Suspect Turns Himself In

A second suspect is now in custody for a January murder in Kinston. Joshua Sutton turned himself in on Tuesday in reference to the murder of Alton R. McKnight.  McKnight was shot and killed while sitting in his parked vehicle on the 400-block of S. Tiffany Street on January 30th.  Sutton is charged with Murder and Armed Robbery.  He was held at the Lenoir County Jail on a $1 million bond.  Carlos E. Fields has also been charged with Murder and Armed Robbery in relation to McKnight’s murder.  Fields was already incarcerated at the Pitt County Detention Center on unrelated charges.
