UPADATE: Drivers Identified In Fatal Car Crash (PHTO GALLERY)

One person is dead and another injured following a two vehicle wreck near Mar-Mac.  The accident occurred on Durham Lake Road at Timber Hollow Drive off of Highway 13 South Monday morning around 11 AM.  A vehicle driven by 74-year old Joe Armstrong, Jr. of Dudley was struck by another vehicle that reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign. Armstrong was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the second vehicle, 66-year old Betty Gooding of Dudley, was first transported to Wayne UNC Health Care and then was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center.  The North Carolina Highway Patrol says charges are pending.

OK, maybe I need to read !!!!!!– I now see that you are stating your age, not mrs Gooding’s…. Regardless, the article does not state she “purposefully ran a stop sign”

I hope they charge Betty with vehicular homicide at the very least. Let me get out there and run a stop sign at age 41 and I’ll be going away for about 10 years, charge her and hold her accountable, she took a human life and is probably laying up at Vidant high as a kite on the morphine pump. Prayers for Mr. Armstrong’s family, this man died due to a careless, selfish driver.

She purposefully ran a stop sign, why don’t you go try to talk this crap of it being an accident at this man’s funeral and see where that gets you.

BUT THINK ABOUT IT YOU REALLY THINK A 66 YEAR OLD LADY RAN THAT STOP SIGN ON PURPOSE YOU ARE CRAZY. IF AND YES I SAID IF THAT WOMAN MAKES IT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL SHE HAS TO DEAL WITH IT THE REST OF HER LIFE. SHE HAS TO ANSWER FOR IT NOT YOU !!!!! I DONT KNOW WHY YOU WOULD THINK ANYONE WOULD PURPOSELY RUN A STOP SIGN!!! MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND THIS HATRED FILLED WORLD!!!!!!!!

You are the one who needs to READ. Mrs Gooding is 66 years old, not 41. Also, the article does not say she “purposefully ran a stop sign”. Ever thought she might have had a seizure, stroke, heart attack, or any other plausible reasons other than “purposefully ran a stop sign”???? And perhaps she could be “at Vidant high as a kite on the morphine pump” because of a pre-accident condition. My point is; there are many people named on police blotters that most people can ‘pre-judge’ their character and motives with a certain degree of confidence, but unless you are clairvoyant, this lady is not one of them baised on the information given.
