Comment On U.S. 70 Interstate Upgrades

State transportation officials are seeking public comment on the plans for upgrading a section of U.S. 70 in Wayne and Johnston counties. The North Carolina Department of Transportation will hold an informal  open house on Thursday, Dec. 7, regarding the plans to upgrade a 6.7 mile segment of U.S. 70 to interstate standards.  The open house will be held from 4-7 PM Thursday at Grace Baptist Church at 220 Barden Street in Princeton.  The public is invited to attend and learn more about and provide input on the proposed $130.5 million project that would include new interchanges and ramps along the stretch of U.S. 70.
