The 28 degree temperature didn’t have much of an effect on the public Sunday night as the Annual Mount Olive Pickle Drop took place at midnight Greenwich Mean Time, which is 7pm EST. About 1,600 people turned out to watch the Annual Mount Olive Pickle Drop that took place at the corner of Cucumber and Vine Street at Mount Olive Pickle Company. Music could be heard from a local band along with a DJ spinning out some line dance music prior to the pickle drop. Shortly before the drop, people started gathering around the old preserved pickle vat with their party hats and horns ready to bring in the new year!
