Gov. Cooper: Stay Safe Following Winter Storm

(NORTH CAROLINA NEWS NETWORK) — North Carolina is starting to dig out from the winter weather event that mainly impacted the eastern half of the state.  Governor Roy Cooper spoke to reporters at the Emergency Operations Center Wednesday. Governor Roy Cooper said the Highway Patrol will be out in force.  Cooper says he’s declaring a State of Emergency so they can make sure the areas that are hit hardest will get the most help. Governor Roy Cooper also advised residents to take precautions including dressing appropriately for the extreme cold.
