Tax Season Is Underway

(NORTH CAROLINA NEWS NETWORK) — On Monday, The IRS began accepting paper and electronic tax returns, with more than 155 million individual tax returns expected to be filed in 2018.

Although some people may want to get a head start on filing their taxes, preparers say people with certain tax credits–namely the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit–may find it better to wait.

The official deadline to file your tax returns is April 17.
