Council Again Discusses Technology Improvements

The City of Goldsboro is closer to approving an $850,000 plan for technology upgrades.

The improvement project’s to-do list includes $360,000 for 90 new laptops for police and fire vehicles.  Goldsboro City Council member Bill Broadaway expressed his support for those particular funds at this week’s council meeting.

The hardware improvements also include $250,000 for 40 network upgrades for all city facilities, and $16,000 for updated security systems for city facilities.

The total cost for the projects would be divvied up across the current and next fiscal years.

The Goldsboro City Council will be asked to sign off on the technology hardware updates at its next meeting.
