The threat of rain didn’t stop a group of determined people from hosting a major event Saturday morning in Mount Olive to raise funds for Kitty Askins in Goldsboro. Tony Martin and a group of eight cooking teams along with church groups, individuals and local businesses came together in the empty lot next to Westbrook Park to sell all types of food and plates to raise funds for the cause. The convenience of this year’s drive-thru was set up to better serve the loyal customers that came out to support the event. Members of the University of Mount Olive Field and Track team did a great job in volunteering their time to help out with this year’s event.
