More Work Approved For Former W.A. Foster Center

Nearly $120,000 worth of improvements will be made to the former W.A. Foster Center in Goldsboro.

The bids for the work had originally come in over the project’s budget.   Finance Director Kaye Scott told the city council last week that the W.A. Foster Recreation Committee lowered the project scope to get a better price.

The city has nearly $89,000 available for the project, meaning an additional $30,000 will be needed for the work.

The low bid of over $118,000 from Billy Brock Construction includes ceiling repairs and new flooring. The Goldsboro City Council approved that bid.

Goldsboro has already approved renovations–including asbestos abatement– for the former W.A. Foster Center, which was built back in the 1930’s.
