Saluting Seymour

Every week, Saluting Seymour and SoundScope highlight an airman serving at the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro.

Chandler T. Smith

Rank: Airman 1st Class with the 4th Fighter Wing

Hometown: Lexington, KY

Smith is a Network Administrator at Seymour Johnson. His duties include managing the different networks for the base.  Military service is a tradition in Smith’s family.  His great-great grandfather was one of the first airmen to be part of the Air Force’s split from the U.S. Army in the 1940’s.  Smith says Goldsboro may be small, but it has a lot to offer.  Smith is considering a lengthy Air Force career, and he’s hoping to join the chaplain program.  He also takes time to volunteer during base activities.

SoundScope can be heard on Fridays on Goldsboro’s Greatest Hits 1150 AM and 98.3 FM.
