Daycare Worker Cleared Of Abuse Charge

A former preschool teacher has been cleared of criminal charges following an incident at the Goldsboro Y.

The charge of Misdemeanor Child Abuse has been dismissed against Joshelyn Parker in Wayne County District Court.

Parker was accused of leaving scratches and bruises along a child’s neck during a day care class at the Goldsboro Family YMCA in February.

However, the News and Observer of Raleigh reports video footage from the Y did not show Parker touching the boy’s neck.

Parker’s teaching certification was suspended by the state following the alleged incident.

    So this woman is arrested, has her name besmirched, and has her livelihood suspended since February because a parent made an accusation. Yet this could have been resolved in 15 minutes by looking at the video?
    When did immediate rush-to-judgement (like #METOO) become the norm?

      Exactly my question. Her reputation in shambles because there will always be someone who thinks she did; lost wages and emotional turmoil all because they failed to do due diligence first. The police knew the Y has cameras so why wasn’t that the first thing they ddi. My next question is where did the bruises and scratches come from.
