Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni & Friends Annual Homecoming

You may have already noticed those blue and gold flags flying on vehicles around town.

The Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni and Friends are back in Goldsboro this weekend for their annual homecoming celebration.

Goldsboro will welcome thousands of former students from the Dillard and Goldsboro high schools.

Shelby Benton is the receiver for Dillard Goldsboro Alumni and Friends.  She says Saturday’s parade through Downtown Goldsboro is the organization’s most high-profile event this weekend, with a large number of entrants.

The parade steps off at 10 AM Saturday.

The Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni and Friends held their scholarship event Thursday evening at Goldsboro High School, and the organization elects new leadership this weekend.

More information on Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni and Friends, their scholarships, and the homecoming weekend activities can be found at dgafinc.org.

I think this is great! As a transplant, I didn’t go to school here, and wish that I had, because these annual reunions look like so much fun! 🙂 Y’all have a blast!

If you had gone to school here you would not have learned how to spell or count to ten without stumbling

Like it or not there is a huge economic impact on our town every Memorial Day Weekend. I appreciate the Alumni Association. They help hundreds of children with college scholarships, they fill hotels with guests and restaurants with patrons. This is an organization we should all be proud to have in our community.
