Wings Of Wayne This Saturday

It’s safe to say the military plays a critical role in Wayne County given that Goldsboro is home to the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

An event this weekend will honor our military service members while serving up the best chicken wings the area has to offer.

The Goldsboro Elks Lodge holds its 2nd Annual Wings of Wayne this Saturday.

Doug McGrath is the Veterans Committee Chairman with the Goldsboro Elks.

McGrath says the event will honor local service members with awards.

The Wings of Wayne Chicken Wing Cook-Off and Military Appreciation Day is being held at 207 S. Center Street this Saturday from 1 – 6 PM.

The event features food, children’s activities and music.

As part of the event, the 2nd Annual Downeast Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Ride will run from Wayne County Veterans Memorial Park to the Kinston Veterans Home on Sunday.

The complete schedule of activities can be found at
