Edith Burroughs King

June 18, 84,

Edith Burroughs King, age 84, passed away Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was a member of Brogden United Methodist Church, and was retired from General Electric after 35 years of service.

At her request, a graveside service will be held Wednesday at 1:00pm at Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Frank Purvis officiating. The family will receive friends at the grave immediately following the service.

Edith was the daughter of the late Wilbur Burroughs and Amy Smith Burroughs. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jack Hardy King and her siblings, William Burroughs and Virginia Radford.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Verlie Reeves of Mount Olive and Brent and Debbie King of Garner; four grandchildren, Brian Reeves (April Ramirez) of Mount Olive, Kyle Reeves (Lindsay) of Greenville and Jackson King and Krista King both of Arlington, Va.; and a great-granddaughter, Isabelle Reeves of Greenville

Flowers are welcome and memorial gifts may be made to Brogden United Methodist Church, 2918 U.S. 117, Dudley, N.C., 28333; Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro NC 27534; or to the Christian Caregivers of Goldsboro, P.O. Box 363, Goldsboro, NC 27533-0363.

The family would like to express its deepest appreciation to friends and family for their support. A special thanks to Bernice Ulmer, Randy Mills, Katie Blizzard, Kitty Askins Hospice Center and Christian Caregivers of Goldsboro for the compassionate care given to Edith and the family.
