Motorcycle Rider Killed In Crash Near Fremont

One person is killed in a motorcycle crash in northern Wayne County. The accident was reported around 12:45 PM Friday on Hooks Road near the Wayne and Wilson county line.  According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the motorcycle was heading south on Hooks Road near Wilson Road when the bike ran off the road and struck a ditch.  The motorcycle driver, 36-year-old Michael P. Perry of Fremont was ejected during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
