Suspect Hid In Mall, Attempted After Hours Burglary

A suspect is accused of hiding in the Goldsboro mall and then trying to steal from a jewelry vendor. Officers from the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the Berkeley Mall just before 10 PM Sunday night.  A mall security officer watching the surveillance cameras had noticed a person dressed entirely in black walking down a mall hallway.  Officers arrived and located the suspect, 21-year-old Anthony D. Martin of Goldsboro, hiding near dumpsters near a mall entrance.  As officers investigated and reviewed the surveillance footage, it was determined Martin had hid in the mall after closing, and then came out of his hiding spot and attempted to break into a jewelry kiosk.  Once the kiosk’s alarm was triggered, Martin fled and exited the building.  No damage was done and no property was stolen during the incident.  Martin was arrested and charged with Preparation to Commit Burglary and Attempted Breaking and Entering.  He was held at the Wayne County Detention Center under a $4,000 secured bond.

This is not his first rodeo….he has a history of B&E and felony larceny, I think he needs a new vocation.

Had the mindset to plan hours and days ahead to steal for monetary gain. My question is, couldn’t you have used that same time working a job for monetary gain. My way wouldn’t have costed you a bail bondsman and court fees, not to mention a lifelong record. There’s a lot of grass out there that needs to be cut.

That would require physical labor. That is asking WAY too much of the majority of the generation coming up.

A quick search shows he has done even more of this sort of thing in Cary, Wake County of all places. I’d say the only grass he might cut is called Marijuana-
