Karen Diane Smith Washburn, 83, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at her home.

Nana was born in Illinois on March 22, 1935 to the late James Douglas Smith, Sr. and Bonnie Maryland Smith Lockwood. She retired from the Social Security Administration.

No formal service will be held.

Nana is survived by her daughter, Heather D. Stutchman (David); son, William D. Washburn; grandchildren, Melanie Daniels (Tim), Melissa Thornton (Josh) and Melinda Malone; great-grandchildren, Dylan Malone, Hannah Bryson, Savana Daniels, Caleb Thornton and Olivia Thornton; sister, Sara Ioakim and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Finney and brother, James Smith Jr.
