Weekend Shootings Reported In Goldsboro

Two shootings were reported to Goldsboro Police this past weekend.

The first shooting was reported before 3 AM early Saturday morning near the intersection of Wayne Memorial Drive and Eleventh Street. Witnesses said people inside two vehicles exchanged gunfire and then left the area.  The vehicles were described as a small older model red passenger car and a black box-shaped SUV.  The Goldsboro Police Department report states one bullet and one .45 caliber shell casing were recovered from the scene.

Around 1:30 AM Sunday, officers responded to the 400 block of Hamilton Drive for the second reported shooting. Witnesses said they heard an unknown number of gun shots coming from close by.  One person saw a small white vehicle leave the area at a high rate of speed.  One vehicle in a driveway had been struck by the gunfire.

There were no suspects listed in the GPD reports.
