City of Goldsboro & Wayne County Offices Close Ahead of Storm

County Manager Craig Honeycutt and City Manager Scott Stevens have announced all offices for Wayne County and the City of Goldsboro will close at 2:00 PM today to allow employees to get home and sheltered. Honeycutt said, “The National Weather Service estimates tropical storm force winds will increase between the hours of 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM today, and we want our employees home safely. The Emergency Operations Center began full operations at 8:00 AM this morning, and all essential personnel are now in place.”

City and County Offices will remain closed on Friday, September 14th.

Honeycutt urges all citizens to finalize their preparations today and encourages everyone to be sheltered safely by 5:00 PM this evening. “We want to protect the public health and safety of our community and ask everyone to be prepared for the worst, and pray for the best.”
