Goldsboro Roads Flooding, More Rain To Come

More reports of flooding are coming in as Tropical Storm Florence continues to pound Wayne County.

Everyone is encouraged to stay off the roads and only travel if necessary.

Areas of Royall Avenue and Wayne Memorial Drive are reportedly under water at this time, with one water rescue being performed on Wayne Memorial.

An area of N.C. 581 is closed near Rosewood.

A county-wide curfew goes into effect from 9 PM until 6 AM.

Florence was downgraded to a Tropical Storm earlier Friday.

However, the system continues to drench Wayne County and will keep doing so for the next day or two.

In it’s 5 PM Friday report, the National Weather Service says there’s the potential for an additional 8 – 12 inches of rain in the Goldsboro area.

Over 18,000 Duke Energy customers in Wayne County are without power at this time.
