Update On Wayne County Shelters

Department of Social Services Director and Wayne County Shelter Coordinator Tammy Schrenker has announced the shelter at Spring Creek High School is being closed and any remaining individuals sheltered at the high school will be consolidated with Spring Creek Middle School. Mrs. Schrenker said, “At this time there is not a need for both shelters, allowing us to consolidate our resources.”

Five shelters remain open in the County:

  • Wayne Academy
  • Carver Elementary in Mount Olive
  • Tommy’s Road Elementary
  • Mount Olive Middle
  • Spring Creek Middle
