Highway Patrol Seeks Recruits

(NORTH CAROLINA NEWS NETWORK) — The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is looking for more than a few good men and women.

Over 200 trooper positions are currently vacant within the agency, which operates as a division of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety.

While participating in an interview with WRAL on the merits of careers in law enforcement, Sgt. Christopher Knox sought to dispel some of the myths that surround his profession.

According to Sgt. Knox, the agency needs “people who are ethical, who have courage, [and] are willing to take a job that’s not an easy job.”

Those people must also be between the ages of 21 and 39 on their first anticipated day of training and have records that are free of felony offenses.
