County Offices To Close At 2 PM Ahead Of Storm

Wayne County Offices will close at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018, in advance of potentially strong wind gusts from Tropical Storm Michael. While the sustained winds have decreased and are expected to be around 20-25 mph as the storm approaches, projected gusts could reach 50-55 mph. The safety of citizens and employees is the county’s number one concern; therefore, they feel it is best to allow everyone to get home safely before the storm impacts our area.

The County will resume normal business hours at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, October 12th.

Due to Wayne County office closures because of the forecast of high winds, all Wayne County Public Library programs are cancelled after 2:00 p.m. today.

All Library locations will be open again Friday for regular business hours.
