Wayne County To Distribute Mosquito Larvicide

Wayne County Health Director Davin Madden announces that the County has purchased mosquito larvicide using state funds designated for mosquito abatement. The larvicide packs are for residents to use around their property to control the mosquito population after Hurricane Florence. Packs of larvicide will be distributed to the public starting Friday, October 12, 2018 at the following locations:

  • Mount Olive Town Hall at 114 E. James Street Mount Olive, NC
  • Wayne County Environmental Health Department at 134 N. John Street Goldsboro, NC

Residents that received standing water may visit either location Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm to pick up a larvicide pack. One pack will be provided per household. Larvicides target larvae in the breeding habitat before they can mature into adult mosquitoes and disperse. Larvicide treatment of breeding habitats helps reduce the adult mosquito population in nearby areas.

Do you suppose they would have any mother-inlaw abatement packs for use around my property? Sure would be nice, ever since Hurricane Florence…..sheesh!!
