Ride As One Benefits Highway Patrol’s Caisson Unit (PHOTO GALLERY)

A large crowd gathered Saturday morning waiting for the arrival of the motorcycles that were making their way from Wake Forest to the location here in Wayne County on Buck Swamp Road where the North Carolina Highway Patrol’s Caisson Unit is housed. This was the first annual Ride As One for the North Carolina Troopers Association\N.C. Highway Patrol-Caisson Unit. The ride was put together to raise awareness and funding for the Caisson team. The more than 300 riders left Wake Forest around 11 AM fully escorted by several law enforcement agencies along the way to Buck Swamp Road.  The event was an open house day where the public was welcome to come out and see the horse team along with the trucks. Fire and EMS were on scene for the day long event.
