Daniels Chapel Marker Unveiled At SJAFB

A new sign marks the former site of Daniels Chapel before the church was moved out of the area that would become the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

Sunday’s unveiling and homecoming celebration also marked the 140th anniversary of families meeting for services at the on-base site.

The Daniels Memorial Church was officially established in 1883.

In 1942, Daniels Chapel was moved from Seymour Johnson Field to 2802 E. Ash Street and is now Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church.
