Fresh Start Banquet On Friday

A first-ever banquet will help reduce recidivism and homelessness in Wayne County.

Pastor Marvin Alexander is the founder of the Mephibosheth Project and he’s a member of Wayne County Reentry Council.

He appeared on 730 and 105.7 WFMC to talk about the banquet.

Alexander says the next step for the groups is to purchase a few pieces of property at the old Cherry Hospital campus.

That will allow for curriculum, training spaces and transitional housing for those that were recently released from incarceration

You can learn more about the efforts at mephibproject.org.

The Fresh Start Banquet is being held at 7 PM this Friday, November 9th, at the National Guard Armory, 700 U.S. Highway 117 Bypass S. in Goldsboro.
