Still Time To Sign Up For Veterans Day Parade

Wayne County is preparing to honor its veterans this weekend.

Veterans Day is Sunday, and this weekend’s local events honoring our current and former military members include the Annual Wayne County Veterans Day Parade on Saturday.

Kris Brewer is the Secretary of the Wayne County Veterans and Patriots Coalition.

She says Col. Donn Yates from the 4th Fighter Wing at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base will give the opening speech before the parade.

The parade’s grand marshal will be Purple Heart recipient, Sylvania Wilkerson.

The registration deadline has been extended for parade entries.

Those still interested in taking part in Saturday’s Veterans Day Parade can still register through today, Thursday, Nov. 8th.

Parade entry applications are available online at the Wayne County website,

The Wayne County Veterans Day Parade begins this Saturday, Nov. 10, at 11 AM in Downtown Goldsboro.

The parade line-up begins at 9:30 AM.
