Wreaths Across America Plans Wayne County Ceremonies

Wreaths Across America will honor veterans in thousands of cemeteries across the nation this holiday season, including those buried in Wayne County.

On December 15th, wreaths will be laid on veteran graves to honor their service to this country.

Andrew Smart is a Tech Sgt. with the U.S Air Force and is stationed in Goldsboro.

He’s involved with the local Wreaths Across America effort, and he appeared on Jeff Farrow’s Morning Show on Goldsboro’s Greatest Hits 1150 and 98.3 last week.

Smart says donations and volunteers are needed to help honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible.

The two local Wreaths Across America ceremonies will be held on December 15th.

The first ceremony will be at Evergreen Cemetery at 12 PM and the second service will be at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery at 3 PM.

Further information on the local Wreaths Across America effort, including donation info, can be found here.
