State Board Votes On Carver Heights Takeover Today

The North Carolina State Board of Education is scheduled to make its ruling on the potential takeover of a Goldsboro school today, Thursday, Dec. 6.

Carver Heights Elementary School was identified for transfer into the N.C. Innovative School District due to the school’s low performance grades.

Since the potential transfer of Carver Heights into the ISD surfaced in October, Wayne County Public Schools and community members have spoken out in an attempt to keep the Goldsboro school under local control.

According to the State Board of Education’s agenda, the board will vote on the Carver Heights transfer today at 11:25 AM or later.
